Enjoy the 19th Festival of Lights and experience the magic of light art at the Festival of Lights 2023 in Berlin: From 6 October to 15 October 2023, Berlin will glow in a sea of lights with the motto “Colours of Life”. Daily from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., impressively orchestrated light installations will merge with places, sights, streets, squares and historic buildings of the city.

Those who want to breathe in the fresh autumn air can simply get on their bike and ride away: out of the centre, into the neighbourhoods! New museums in Berlin

After extensive renovation, the Medical History Museum of the Charité is once again showing exciting exhibits from 300 years of medical history and new special exhibitions. The new Exilmuseum workshop prepares you for the future Exilmuseum at Anhalter Bahnhof and the former air traffic controller tower of Tempelhof Airport is now an exhibition venue, but not only: on the roof terrace you can enjoy a wide panoramic view over Tempelhofer Feld.  

Exciting interactive and immersive experiences on major historical themes await you in the new Deutschlandmuseum and the Cold War Museum. The new Deja Vu Museum takes you into the world of optical illusions. 

A tip for photography lovers: the Swedish photo museum Fotografiska Berlin celebrates its opening in the famous former Kunsthaus Tacheles on 14 September.

Babylon Berlin

Berlin is an international film metropolis!

It starts again on October 1st: The fourth season of the internationally successful series Babylon Berlin starts and invites you to explore Berlin in the 1920s. Our podcast Filmstadt Berlin accompanies you on your journey through the film city of Berlin.

Babylon Berlin – it’s THE TV series from Berlin. It portrays the Berlin of the 1920s – the exciting city of sins and the emerging metropolis. Star director Tom Tykwer together with Henk Handloegten and Achim von Borries have elaborately set the stage for the most expensive German TV series. With a lot of attention to detail, the Berlin of the era comes alive.

The series has already won numerous important awards, including the renowned Grimme Prize and the German Television Prize for Best Drama Series, Best Music, Best Camera and Best Equipment.
