Artists from 32 different countries meet around

the table of Kunstenfestivaldesarts

From May 10 to June 1, Kunstenfestivaldesarts celebrates contemporary artistic creation with theatre, dance, performance and visual arts from Belgium and around the world. The full programme was announced today.

Kunstenfestivaldesarts 2024 brings artists from 32 different countries to Brussels. In addition to artists who have previously appeared at the festival such as Back to Back Theatre, Nacera Belaza, Jaha Koo, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker & Radouan Mriziga, Maria Hassabi, Toshiki Okada, Faye Driscoll, Marlene Monteiro Freitas, MEXA and Lia Rodrigues, we also welcome quite a few creators for the first time such as Mamela Nyamza, Carolina Bianchi & Carolina Mendonça, Danh Vo, Gaia Saitta, Idio Chichava, Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige, Chagaldak

Zamirbekov, Soa Ratsifandrihana, Mohamed El Khatib, Katerina Andreou and many others.

A total of 36 artistic projects including 27 world premieres will be shown to the public. Performances that depict new worlds, reclaim pleasure as a political strategy, zoom in on the complexity of memory, initiate a dialogue between exceptional artists. Several artistic projects take place in the public space including a creation that will be part of the Zinneke Parade, or in special locations including an abandoned cinema and a former hotel. This year’s Free School is centred around the kitchen table as a place where stories and knowledge are shared.

Kunstenfestivaldesarts 2024 presents three weeks of adventurous artistic work anchored in today’s world at some thirty locations across Brussels. Welcome!
