Tram Experience is partnering with restaurant guide Le Fooding

Young Brussels chefs take the limelight in new Tram Experience season

sees the start of the new Tram Experience season. Over the coming months, thousands of people will once again take a culinary journey through Brussels. This year, the menus come from young, talented, Brussels chefs, with Milan La Roche of the restaurant St Kilda first to take up the challenge.

For this new season, the Tram Experience is partnering with restaurant guide Le Fooding.

A gastronomic tram ride through Brussels starting and arriving at Place Poelaert. That has been the Tram Experience’s recipe for success for 11 seasons. Last year, no fewer than 8,500 foodies took part in this unique gastronomic experience. A record.

The twelfth season of the Tram Experience, which starts tomorrow, is all about the new generation of Brussels chefs.

A promising vibrant scene For several years now, a strong new wind has been blowing through Brussels’ gastronomic scene.

Many avant-garde chefs have come to the fore. Young chefs who do not care about stars but resolutely strive for contemporary, trendy cuisine that’s radically local and cares about the city and the planet.

They ensure that Brussels is on the international map as a magnet for foodies looking for a lively restaurant scene with young and promising talent.

Le Fooding For the new season, the Tram Experience has teamed up with Le Fooding. Born from the contraction of ‘food’ and ‘feeling’, this independent gastronomic reference guide (lefooding.com, app, paper guide) tracks down restaurants, bars, cellars, shops and rooms all over Belgium that offer a ‘taste

of the times’. On board the Tram Experience, the carefully selected chefs (listed in the guide) promise to give foodies a genuine, embodied and lively culinary experience.

Milan La Roche The chef of Uccle restaurant St Kilda will be kicking off the new season. Milan La Roche developed his own culinary style based on his experiences in Costa Rica and Australia. He worked mainly in the city of Melbourne, more specifically in the neighbourhood of St Kilda, after which his restaurant is named. There, he is known as a chef who loves apparent simplicity. He invariably opts for unexpected and tasty combinations, prepared with respect for the seasons and sustainability.

He added some hearty Belgian touches to his style for restaurant Manneken Pis Café. He will be providing the menu for the Tram Experience until 13 October.

After La Roche, it will be the turn of Jordan Joubert of the Klok restaurant in Brussels. After that, the duo of Ugo Federico from restaurant Racines in Ixelles and Alexandru Sapco of restaurant La Bonne Chère in Brussels’ Marolles will take over, to provide a surprising menu in December and January.

The dishes are carefully and meticulously prepared on board by Thibault Granville (Taste Great) and his team. Milan La Roche’s full menu and all info on the Tram Experience can be found at www.tramexperience.brussels
