The sun is rising over Florence

For the tourism industry, the sun is rising over Florence a little brighter as restrictions begin to lift on travel. Florence has gracefully and steadily reopened in the past couple months and along with the artisanal shops and boutiques, many of the most popular historical sites and museums are now welcoming visitors.

The streets are tranquil with local Florentines going about their day-to-day life, stopping by a café for a morning cappuccino and later, enjoying a peaceful evening stroll through the city’s many gorgeous Renaissance squares. It is one of the best times to see Florence in all its glory.

The Uffizi Gallery, which reopened on June 3, is a sight to behold with the new Botticelli rooms. Visitors and locals now enjoy more freedom to wander the spaces of these large galleries, once seemingly small and over-crowded.

Many of our favorite restaurants and trattorias have reopened as well, offering dishes which touch upon the incredible bounty of the season including panzanella, pappa al pomodoro and of course, prosciutto and melon, a staple summer dish for all Italians!

With great excitement, we continue the restoration work at IL Tornabuoni and very much look forward to welcoming you back to Florence in the fall with open hearts and all the best that this city has to offer!
