From the month of July, IFEMA will host more than 60 fairs and congresses
The Community of Madrid and the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) endorse the extraordinary measures implemented by IFEMA to guarantee the safety, health and mobility of the participants at its fairs, congresses and events, as well as the dissemination of this information throughout the community in the sector
Madrid.- The Community of Madrid, through Madrid Excelente, has granted IFEMA the Madrid Guarantee certificate, an initiative that is part of the regional government’s Plan for Reactivation that identifies public-private collaboration between institutions and companies to help economic revitalisation in their coexistence with Covid-19, as well as the measures and solutions implemented by each company to guarantee the safety and health of their businesses.
The Madrid Guarantee certificate recognizes the work carried out by IFEMA in three areas: in adopting the mandatory standards in the new normality imposed by Covid-19; in developing special protocols and for the social actions undertaken by IFEMA during the emergency hospital deployed in Feria de Madrid during March and April, as well as for its support and collaboration with the provisions of the Community and Madrid City Council, both in providing the hospital facility and in the logistics and organisation during its operation.
Safe Travels, the hallmark of the WTTC for Convention, Meeting and Event Centres
In addition, IFEMA has obtained the ‘Safe Travels’ seal from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) for the Convention, Meeting and Event Centres industry, as a result of the protocols and actions implemented for the return to activity after the Covid-19 health crisis, with a safe, healthy and responsible reopening.
These certificates recognize the importance of adopting measures and protocols to guarantee the safety and mobility of participants at the events, as well as the transmission of information to all of them, regarding access and capacity control measures, physical distancing and hygiene measures and cleanliness; in addition to the redesign of events, with the combination of face-to-face and hybrid formats, as essential provisions for the successful running of fairs and congresses. In this context, IFEMA is implementing an important range of measures including new protocols and incorporating state-of-the-art technology, which has taken into account the guidelines issued by health authorities, national and international organisations and institutions, which will contribute to guaranteeing a safe space on its return to activity in July.
In the coming months, if the situation continues to evolve favourably, IFEMA will host more than 60 trade fairs, conferences and other professional and leisure events, aimed at supporting the revival of businesses and companies, and contributing to reconstructing the economy. Major events such as the International Security Fair, SICUR, which will dedicate a special event from July to September to measures, products and equipment for businesses and organisations facing Covid-19; Fruit Attraction, the international fair for the fruit and vegetable sector; DES-Digital Enterprise Show; Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, and the World Dog Show, will star among others in IFEMA’s agenda for the rest of 2020.
